Simple Sundays #1

Just a quick share today of some simple cards I made with some designer series paper that was in a Stampin' BINGO goody bag I received Friday night. I'm not sure what the name of the DSP is, but I love the Calypso Coral and Pool Party colors in it! These are the four cards I made in about an hour this afternoon:

The first card is my favorite! I love the Party Wishes stamp set from the new Occaisions catalog. All the stamps I used for this card are from that set. It's difficult to see in the picture, but I used the Wink of Stella clear glitter brush to add a little sparkle to the candles on top of the birthday cake.

The second card is a very simple Mother's Day card. I think my mom will get a laugh out of the household and cleaning items on the DSP. She often jokes about never retiring from being the family maid, so my inscription on the inside will poke fun at that.

The third card features stamps from a past Paper Pumpkin kit. I thought the cup from that kit went well with the cups on the DSP.

The last card was super quick to make. I stamped straight on the DSP and thought this sentiment was appropriate for the DSP. Sometimes you need to just celebrate the everyday!

Cottage Greetings Card Kit Thank Yous

When I first saw the current Stampin' Up! annual catalog, I fell in love with the Cottage Greetings card kit. While I enjoy designing my own cards or searching on Pinterest for ideas, sometimes I want something that is quick to create and doesn't involve lots of time spent designing or searching for ideas. Kits are the perfect solution for when this mood strikes. The Cottage Greetings card kit makes 15 cards with 5 each of 3 different designs.

The card above is my favorite! I love the floral banner with the silver accent behind it.The thin piece of wood adds a nice natural accent. The silver sequins on the banner and silver dots on the base card add some bling.

The second card features a color that hasn't been on my favorites list but is growing on me-Crushed Curry. The striped base features this color along with the ink used for the sentiment.

"Mailable Monday" Cards

I love the idea of "mailable" cards and have seen "Mailable Monday" challenges and blog posts over the last few years, but have never participated. I decided to try my hand at making "mailable" cards without the excess layers, buttons, or embellishments that can effect mailing of a card and hope to make this a regular feature on my blog.

I had a great time this evening playing with some Sale-a-Bration goodies for my first "Mailable" Monday project. This is a masculine Valentine that uses both a stamp set and DSP (designer series paper) from the new 2016 Sale-a-Bration offerings. You can check out the Sale-a-Bration brochure here. The stamp set is called Sky is the Limit. I love the look of the papers from the Perfectly Artistic DSP pack. The marbled and sponged looks go well with so many styles of cards! The Bermuda Bay and Pool Party are the colors of card stock used in this card.

My second card features the Love Blossoms DSP from the new Occaisions catalog and the Bloomin' Love stamp set. The card base is Crumb cake and the other card stock used is Rose Red, Garden Green, and Whisper White. I love the floral heart image and stamped it in Rose Red ink to help make it a focal point on the card. I had debated using Blushing Bride, but felt the more vibrant Rose Red would help it stand out more!

Bloomin' Love Valentine

One of my favorite products from the Occaisions 2016 catalog is the the Bloomin' Love photopolymer bundle. The stamp set has great sentiments for any Valentine card as well as a beautiful floral heart.

I managed to get my stamp set inked up for the first time today and also used the coordinating die to cut out a larger version of the floral heart in the stamp set. My color combo is Rich Razzleberry and Blushing Bride. I used the hearts embossing folder to emboss a layer of the Blushing Bride for a little more interest. I love this color combo!

If you are interested in trying out stamping, visit my demonstrator website here to see my calendar of events. I have classes scheduled for January 16th and 22nd.
