Tootsie Pop Holder For Valentine's Day

As an elementary school teacher, I have fun every year designing cute 3-D projects for my students. The Tootsie Pop holder below is what I came up with for Valentine's Day this year. My plan is to use the various in colors from Stampin' Up! to give a little variety. The new tag topper punches make this project quick and easy. I'd be happy to provide instructions if anyone is interested. Let me know what you think!

Freshly Made Sketches #120

What a busy week! It was nice to have some time today to sit down and papercraft. My inspiration today comes from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge blog. This week's sketch is by Rita and features a central banner. Since I received the new banner framelits from the Stampin' Up! occaisions catalog, I've used them on several cards. The framelits take the guess work out of making banners and give you perfect banners every time. They helped make my card below quick and easy to create. You can find lots of inspiration for this challenge back at the Freshly Made Sketches blog.

Color Challenge: PPA186

After trying my hand at a few sketch challenges, I thought it would be fun to try a color challenge. The card below is for the Pals Paper Arts color challenge PPA186. You can find more inspiration here.

These are the featured colors:

The only problem was, I have no gold paper or ribbon in my papercrafting stash. I do, however, have gold embossing powder and was able to use it to meet the requirements of the color challenge. I really like the way the gold pops against the Island Indigo background. I may need to add some more gold to my stash!

All materials used are from Stampin' Up!
Stamp sets: Perfect Pennants and Gorgeous Grunge (used to make the gold splatters)
Cardstock: Island Indigo and Whisper White
Other: Current Whisper White ribbon and retired Island Indigo ribbon, gold embossing powder, heart punch to punch out small Island Indigo heart, retired gold brads
