Can You Case It? Week 7

I am in the midst of doing report cards and what seems like a million and one other work related tasks, but wanted to take a few minutes tonight to relax and stamp in what my husband refers to as my "girl room." I miss my craft space when I get caught up in work or other obligations and it is always fun to steal away for a few minutes and create something!

The challenge over at Can You Case It? this week is "Flowers." The card below came together in just a few minutes thanks to the Stampin' Up! "Good as Gold" Simply Sent kit. This kit is one of the free Sale-a-Bration choices with a $50 order. Cute and free...can't beat that. I used elements of the kit, but did not make the card pictured in the kit. The kit includes gold envelope liners, which I used to punch the gold base flower. The sentiments come in multiple languages, including English of course. I choose the German thank you sentiment since I intend to send the card to my Oma!

Stampin' Up! materials used:
-Simply Sent "Good as Gold" Simply Sent kit
-Bermuda Bay cardstock
-Tangerine Tango candy dot
-Flower Shop stamp set and coordinating punch
-Blossom punch used to punch out the gold flower
-Gold embossing powder

It's "Triple Threat" week over at the Dynamic Duos blog this week. The color combination this week is Wild Wasapi, Tangerine Tango, and Melon Mamba. What a gorgeous color combo! Check out all the inpiration here at the Dynamic Duos blog. Here is my take on this color challenge:

Freshly Made Sketches #124

This is a quick and simple birthday card made for the Freshly Made Sketches #124 challenge. This square sketch is by Karren and you can find lots of inspiration on the Freshly Made Sketches blog here.

I really wanted the Birthday Basics DSP to be the focus of the card. I love the colors in this DSP and Bermuda Bay is one of my current favorites. This particular page in the DSP pack is also a favorite of mine. I love that you can use it for either masculine or feminine cards depending on the colors of cardstock that you choose to use with it.  What is your favorite current DSP?

Dynamic Duos #90

The second card for today features the color combo of Daffodil Delight and Basic Black featured over at Dynamic Duos. This color combo instantly said "bees" to me. I found a small bee stamp in a set I bought last spring and was glad to finally ink up that set. You can find lots of inspiration over at the Dynamic Duos site here.

All materials used are from Stampin' Up! This card features Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, and whisper White cardstock. Inks used are Staz On black and Daffodil Delight. The bee stamp is from the Spring Sampler stamp set and it is punched out using the 3/4 inch circle punch and mounted on Daffodil Delight cardstock punched out with the 7/8 inch scallop circle punch. I also used the Six-Sided Sampler stamp set and coordinating hexagon punch.

Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge: PPA191

I have two cards for you today. This first card took me several attempts to finish. I had a hard time trying to work with two of the colors for the Pals Paper Arts color challenge. The featured colors are Pumpkin Pie, Gumball Green, and Whisper White. There is a lot of great inspiration to be found at the PPA site here.  Orange and green are not one of my go to color combinations, but the resident artists at PPA made such beautiful samples that I had to give it a try too!

And here is my take on this color challenge:

All materials used are from Stampin' Up! This card features Gumball Green and Pumpkin Pie cardstock, Gumball Green DSP, Gumball Green and Pumpkin Pie ribbon, and lace tape. I just love the look of the lace tape-this is the first card I've used it on and I am glad I decided to pull it out and give it a try. I used two stamp sets on this card: Tags 4 You and Mosaic Madness. I also used the coordinating punches for both of these sets as well as the new tag topper punch.
