Bright and Beautiful Christmas Card

Today's card features the Bright and Beautiful Bigshot bundle from Stampin' Up! The bundle features the Bright and Beautiful stamp set from the upcoming holiday catalog which launches on August 28th and the Stars Framelits set.

I stamped on Bermuda Bay card stock with Silver Encore ink for both the stars and the sentiment. Silver glimmer paper cut out with a framelit provides a nice accent behind the stamped stars. I used Stampin' Dimensionals to pop up the layers of the star as seen in the side view below. The stars embossing folder coming soon in the holiday catalog was used to provide some additional texture to the background of the card. Basic rhinestones add an extra touch of bling.

Throwback Thursday: Cool Cat

Just a quick post today to share a couple cards I made with a retired set from Stampin' Up! I love cats and had to have this set when I saw it at a garage sale last year. The stamp set is called Cool Cat and features a beautiful cat image that would be great for all kinds of cards. I may need to pull it back out when I make cards for Halloween, but today's cards are intended as a thank you card and possibly a Valentine's Day card.

The first card features the cat and sentiment from the Cool Cat stamp set. The background was made with the current I Love Lace background stamp stamped onto Very Vanilla with Blackberry Bliss ink. The ribbon and colored card stock are both Blackberry Bliss. I really like the new in color ribbon, it isn't too fussy to use and adds a great touch to cards. I used the word bubble framelits to cut out the sentiment. The card is simple, but I think it would make a great thank you card for a friend that loves cats.

The second card features the same two stamps. This time, the background is the More Amore designer series paper, which is retired but currently being sold on the clearance rack. I seriously love this paper and may need to get another pack. The card base is Pool Party. I punched the little hearts out with the new Itty Bitty Accents heart punch out of Real Red, Pool Party and the retired Primrose Petals. The bow tie was made with the small heart from the Owl punch out of the red glimmer paper. I colored a basic rhinestone with the darker Cherry Cobbler Blendability for the center of the bow tie.

Fun 'N Crafty July Blog Hop

Welcome to the July Fun 'n Crafty blog hop. This month, we are each featuring designer series paper (DSP) from the new Stampin' Up! annual catalog. The timing couldn't be better since DSP is on sale this month. I hope you'll take the time to visit all of the blogs in our hop and then come back and let me know which DSP is your favorite!

I used the gorgeous Lullaby designer series paper for my projects. It is a definite favorite of mine from the new annual catalog. I wanted to create projects that showed the range of this DSP. While it is perfect for baby cards or scrapbook pages, it also makes a great background for both feminine and masculine cards. 

The first card I made features the Lullaby DSP with the the Something For Baby and Tag Talk stamp sets. The colors used in the card are Crisp Cantaloupe and Hello Honey. The Baby's First framelit dies make it easy to cut out the ducks. 

The second card is a quick and easy masculine card that I created to show the versatility of the Lullaby DSP. It features the Starburst Sayings stamp set. The sentiment was cut out using the coordinating framelit dies set. The colors featured on this card are Baked Brown Sugar and Coastal Cabana. 

The third card is another quick and easy card to make, this time with a feminine look. I used two of the Lullaby papers in this card with one as a background and another as an accent behind the sentiment. The stamp I used for the sentiment is from Chalk Talk. The banner accents behind the sentiment were made with the banner punch and I also used the label bracket punch to add a Crisp Cantaloupe accent behind the sentiment. 

My final project is my favorite! I created a banner using the Lullaby DSP and Something for Baby stamp set. The banner framelits made it easy to create the banners and the Baby's First framelits made cutting out my stamped images a breeze. The alphabet is the new Epic Alphabet.
